Why You Should Consider Blogging

Hate writing? Feel like blogging is just one more thing to do?

Entrepreneurs definitely have a never ending to-do list, but the benefits of blogging far outweigh the inconvenience. Here’s why:

Marketing will be easier

A single blog post provides multiple marketing opportunities. The most obvious is to share the direct link on your social media platforms and e-newsletter, but you can also pull excerpts from the post and share them as quotes.

You’ll save time answering questions

If potential clients or customers frequently ask you the same questions, expand on the answer in a blog post. Then, when you’re asked the question again, you can quickly reply with a link to your blog post on the subject.

Bonus points for linking to posts on an actual FAQs website page!

Readers will view you as an expert

Writing blog posts shares your knowledge. When people read your posts, they’re provided with snippets of your expertise. By providing a sample of what you know, you’re likely to build trust with your audience and be viewed as an expert. This makes readers more likely to want to work with you!

You’ll gain a deeper understanding of what you know

There’s nothing like having to explain a topic to someone to really solidify what you know. Not only that, organizing information in a blog post encourages you to dive deeper into the topic, expand on your knowledge, and thus assimilate the information more effectively.

Readers will be motivated to purchase your product

If you sell a product, you can share additional product information (such as features and product care), along with editorial-type posts that show your product being used.

By showing your product in real world situations, potential customers can visualize using it in their lives.

Your audience is likelier to build a connection with you

The key to writing effectively is to write how you speak. Not only does this reduce writer’s block, writing how you speak allows your voice to shine. People want to connect with the real you, so choose your authentic, informal self over a professional tone.
