My Brand is Rooted in Barbie!

Seeing The Barbie Movie reminded me that the (origin) origin story of my brand is rooted in Barbie!

I received a yellow VW Beetle for my Barbies back one year for Christmas and fell in love. I then spent the next decade dreaming about and saving for my own bug. (Hear the full story by watching the reel linked below.)

Ten years ago I named my first business MegaBug Photography after my bug. (“MegaBug” sounding like “shutterbug” was a plus!)

“Miss MegaBug” came about when I pivoted my services and rebranded in 2019.

I’m in the process of rebranding now but am keeping my business name. My new logo and website will be launched in October for my tenth businessversary! They’re going to incorporate more “bug” elements…

Would I have developed a passion for bugs had I not been gifted that yellow Barbie bug? The world may never know.

Did you have a Barbie VW bug? What color?
