Do You Plan for Feasts & Famines in Your Business?

My former studio mate said that business is like feast or famine, and that’s totally been my experience!

It’s normal for businesses to have inconsistent income throughout the year, and for some businesses, they can predict when they’ll have a feast or a famine.

For example, most retailers experience their feast during the holiday season and their famine in January.

That’s why it’s essential to budget based on your average income and not based on your feast months.

You may think you should focus on feasting all the time, but feastings are typically quite overwhelming.

During this time, it’s essential to have a clear to do list and stress management techniques in place.

Famines allow you to rest and prepare for feasts. During a famine, schedule as many social media posts and e-newsletters ahead of time so you don’t have to think about that task during a feast.

Famines are also excellent times to take trainings, get organized, transition to better systems, update your other marketing materials, etc.
