What To Do If TikTok is Banned

TikTok has been under fire before, and it’s a real possibility that it could be banned in the U.S.

Why?

The U.S. government is wary of privacy concerns. (Apps have way more access than we think they do.)

And because TikTok is a Chinese owned company and affiliated with China’s communist party, the U.S. is even more worried.

(Instagram being U.S. owned allows it to fly under the radar of these privacy concerns - even though they likely collect the same data.)

So what should you do if your following is predominantly on TikTok?

UPDATE (4/30/24): TikTok has been banned!

Not On Instagram?

YouTube shorts is also a great place to upload your videos, but because Instagram's platform is more similar to TikTok's, put your focus there.

But there's actually a channel that's even more effective than TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and all other social media platforms: Email

Because your followers aren't guaranteed to see your posts, but your subscribers are guaranteed to receive your emails.

And if your email newsletter platform shuts down, you can shift your subscriber list elsewhere. You OWN your list. You RENT your social media followers.
