Cats of the Round Table

Growing up, my brother said I would end up a crazy old cat lady. We adopted Puss when I was three years-old, and although she didn't tolerate us having any other meows, I knew I loved cats of all types.

Puss and I would spend many winter afternoons by the gas stove, and she'd always walk me up the driveway after school with our Golden Retriever, Casey. I have many memories with the Puss, and it has been hard not coming home to her over the past year. Every once in a while I still expect to see her in front of the pellet stove at my parents'.

Within a month of Puss' passing, I moved down the street where I inherited a house, dog, and cat for three months until the homeowners returned from their exciting adventure across seas. Ben the Australian Shepard was constantly by my side, but Arlo the cat was a little difficult to reach.

Regardless, I had a cat. Towards the last couple of months Arlo tended to snuggle with me in bed, until his real family came home. Shelby and I soon moved into our own apartment that allowed pets, and we talked about adopting a kitty of our own.

One morning I was at the bank talking about Puss when my friend, Bobbe asked if I had adopted another cat. After expressing that Shelby and I were looking, she mentioned that one of her friends was caring for two cats whose owner had passed away the year before. Bobbe sent me photos and told me their names- Guinevere & Lancelot.

Now Shelby and I thought the cats were adorable to begin with, but their names sealed the deal. (I did study English after all!) And so we arranged a time to meet the cats.

Lancelot came right out to greet us. What a lovey kitty he is! Guinevere peeked out from behind the furniture, and said hello after we were there a bit.

We took Guinevere and Lancelot home a year ago and after transitioning to our apartment- and now our house!- they are loving being a part of our family. We love them.
